Submission of the Bawku Mediation Report
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, handed the Bawku Mediation Report to President John Dramani Mahama, which is a major step towards ending the long-running chieftaincy dispute in Bawku.

The report is the result of a protracted mediation process headed by the Asantehene, which sought to establish long-term peace and stability in the region prone to strife. The Bawku Naba, the Kusasi community, and members of the Mamprugu traditional authorities were consulted during the mediation process.
Important Points of the Report
Zugraan Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II should be acknowledged as the legitimate Bawku Naba and supreme chief of the Kusasi Traditional Area, according to the Asantehene.
It is recommended that the Nayiri, Naa Bohagu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga, accept the current legal situation and refrain from acts that jeopardise peace.
– After being appointed as a rival chief, Seidu Abagare ought to be invited back to Nalerigu and given a different traditional function.
In order to bring peace and stability back to Bawku, the research highlights the significance of upholding current legislation and court rulings. President Mahama promised to make the government’s official stance on the findings public within a day.
