Following the musician’s death on July 26, 2025, a number of problems surfaced, including those pertaining to his autopsy, burial date, and widowhood ceremonies among his spouses.

The late musician’s wife reportedly filed for letters of administration over Daddy Lumba’s estate after arriving in the nation, sparking a new dispute.

On January 14, 2026, precisely one month after her late husband’s burial, Akosua Serwaa reportedly stood before the Kumasi High Court and requested letters of administration to oversee and divide the singer’s assets.

Odo Broni, the musician’s other partner, and her legal team have responded by filing a caveat to contest Akosua Serwaa’s application.

Odo Broni’s legal team claims that Akosua Serwaa is incapable of applying for letters of administration on her own because she is not the only surviving spouse of the late Daddy Lumba.

The court has given Akosua Serwaa and her legal team seven days after the caveat was filed to demonstrate why they should be given the letters of administration to administer and divide the late Daddy Lumba’s possessions.
