The Headmistress Mrs. Dorothy Adentwi-Hayford, of Aggrey Memorial Senior High School, Cape Coast, has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, for goning the school’s invitation to witness the Guinness World Record attempt for the longest mathematics lesson.

In a brief interview, the Headmistress thanked the MCE for his presence at the event, stating that it was a great honor for the school to have him in attendance. “We are truly grateful to the MCE for taking time out of his busy schedule to join us today. His presence is a testament to his commitment to education and his support for our students,” she said.
The Headmistress also commended the MCE for his efforts in promoting education in the Cape Coast municipality, stating that his contributions were making a significant impact on the lives of students. “The MCE has been a strong advocate for education in our municipality, and we appreciate his dedication to improving our schools,” she added.
Hon. George Justice Arthur, who was present at the event, had earlier encouraged Joseph Otoo Amuquandoh, the teacher attempting the record, to persevere and complete the 40-hour mathematics lesson. The MCE’s presence was seen as a boost to the morale of the students and teachers involved in the record attempt.
The Guinness World Record attempt, which started on January 9, 2026, has garnered attention from educators, students, and the community, with many expressing their support for Amuquandoh’s efforts. The event is being live-streamed, allowing a wider audience to follow the attempt and show their support.
As Amuquandoh continues his record attempt, he remains focused on his goal, driven by his passion for mathematics education and his desire to inspire students. With the support of the school administration, teachers, and the community, he is confident of achieving his objective and making Ghana proud.
