Shatta Wale is taking legal action against Blakk Rasta, seeking GH¢100 million in damages over a defamatory video posted on December 15, 2025. The video, titled “Shatta Wale, self-confessed king of fraud”, allegedly portrays the dancehall artiste as a fraudster, thief, and morally corrupt figure, which Shatta Wale strongly denies.

According to court documents, the video garnered significant attention, with over 150,000 views on Facebook and 27,000 views on YouTube within 24 hours, causing reputational damage and anxiety among Shatta Wale’s family, fans, and business partners.
Shatta Wale’s lawsuit requests the court to declare the statements defamatory, order Blakk Rasta to remove the video, and restrain him from making further defamatory publications. He also seeks a public retraction and apology to be published on Blakk Rasta’s social media pages and in prominent newspapers.
This isn’t Shatta Wale’s first defamation case, and the outcome of this lawsuit could have significant implications for Ghana’s entertainment industry and social media landscape
