Anthony Akwasi Gyamfi, PharmD, founder and chief executive officer of G&T Prestige Ltd., says the initiative reflects his desire to bring knowledge and opportunities back to Ghana after gaining experience abroad.
Explaining the inspiration behind the project, Dr Gyamfi stated:
“Sankofa means ‘go back and get it’. I went far, I learnt, and now I have come back to bring it home. If a young man with one book bag and no dollar could cross the bridge, so can you. And this time, you will not cross alone.”
The name Sankofa represents the idea of retrieving valuable knowledge and applying it to the present to create a better future. The company is using this philosophy to frame its vision of connecting people with employment opportunities and supporting professional development.
